What are the common beauty treatments?

This is one of the very common beauty treatments that people opt for these days. Not just women but men are also loving the process of facials and how it restores the natural glow. This is a natural beauty treatment that has different steps. Firstly, cleansing is done to deep clean the face and eliminate all the dirt and debris accumulated on the skin. Then, exfoliation is done to remove the dead skin cell layer which is giving the dark undertone to your face. This step also includes the removal of blackheads and whiteheads for a clear face. Next, a face mask or face pack is applied according to the skin type. After cleaning the face, a hydrating moisturiser is applied to soothe the skin.

Manicure and Pedicure

Second most popular treatment(s) is manicure and pedicure. Both of these are cosmetic beauty treatments where manicure is for hands and fingernails, pedicure is for feet and toenails. These treatments are done to enhance the beauty of hands and feet. It can be called facial of hands and feet. The process is different than facial but it helps in rejuvenating hands and feet.

Massaging is an ancient practice that is done to increase blood flow in the body and revive the lost glow. Face massage and body massage have become very common and people visit spas to get these. Apart from relaxing the muscles and reducing tension, massaging different body parts offer different benefits. Face massage is something that is done cautiously to active skin cells without irritating any nerve. There are different face massaging techniques that beginners can also learn and practice.

Eyelash Extensions

Women who are a fan of big lashes generally opt for this treatment. There are two types- temporary and permanent lash extensions. While temporary lashes are mostly applied for parties to enhance eye look, permanent lashes are made to last for weeks and months. They are done through a special procedure by an expert. This is apt for women with thin or small lashes. Extensions make them fuller and compliment the whole look.

Let us now talk about expensive beauty treatments that people don’t get easily. Also, since they are expensive, only wealthy people attempt these.

Botox Injections

Do you know how old age women reduce the visibility of ageing from their faces? It is with the help of Botox injections. A lot of actresses too get doses of Botox to look young forever. These injections contain a bacterium that triggers botulism process. The bacterium is administered into the facial muscles through a thin needle which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines that characterize ageing. These are given to specific muscles. The number of Botox injection a woman need to take depends upon her wrinkle situation. Lesser wrinkles, a lesser amount of injections. The results last for several months after one dose.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peel treating is done to eliminate damaged skin including acne scars, wrinkles, freckles and age spots. In this, a chemical solution is applied to the skin to conduct the process. There are mild to deep chemical peel treatments available depending upon the severity of the skin issues. In a mild chemical peel, alpha-hydroxy acids are used, trichloroacetic acid is used in medium peel treatment and phenol is used for deep peeling. The recovery time of each treatment is also different where deep chemical peel can provide benefits for up to 10 years.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

This treatment is done to eliminate wrinkles, scars, age spots and uneven skin tone. Using pulsating beams of lights, the outer layer of the skin is removed. This process is a no-heat process and therefore highly preferred. Ablative laser therapy is done to target deep scars and wrinkles whereas a non-ablative laser process is done for visible signs of ageing. Recovery time is shorter in the non-ablative process but results are more promising and long-lasting in the ablative process. Also, there may be some side-effects like redness, itchiness and light sensitivity may be experienced.

Dermal Fillers

To plump up lips and cheeks, many women go for dermal fillers. Using your own fat or fillers like hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, Restylane and synthetic polylactic acid, the doctor would inject fillers into the skin. This would soften the wrinkles, creases and deep folds to make your skin look ageless and even. Just like Botox, these fillers are also temporary and need to be redone to restore the benefits. Depending upon the filler, the results may last up to 18 months.

Laser Hair Removal

This is indeed the most popular treatment on this list. Facial and body hair is extremely annoying especially to women who like their skin clean, smooth and hair-free. Getting threading and waxing every month is frustrating and tiring. Thus, laser hair removal helps in eliminating unwanted hair from any part of the body. You may need multiple sessions for complete hair removal depending upon the location, your skin type, colour and thickness of hair. It is most effective for people with light skin and dark hair. Generally, results become visible in 3-8 sessions.

This is another surgical process to remove wrinkles and scars. In this process, the doctor would numb the skin by giving you local anaesthesia and then scrape away the top layer using a wire brush or a device. This would be done in several stages and there are many side-effects including swelling, redness, pain and burning sensation are associated with this process. It should be done by an expert dermatologist or aesthetic physician.
